Summary

The Configuration Management Supervisor manages the release and approval of all engineering documents. He or She supports all other departments as the records management expert, managing and maintaining all engineering network files. The Configuration Management Supervisor upholds the fundamental principles of Configuration Management within the change control process.

Essential Functions

  • Works with management and the change control team to define, maintain and uphold documentation of policy and standards.
  • Day to day supervision of Change Control Data Analyst and Configuration Management Specialist I and II.
  • Validates each ECO to ensure clarity.
  • Reviews ECRs for accuracy and viability. Works with engineering team to develop a Change Order from an ECR.
  • Manages backlog of ECOs, approved and coordinates expedites, and alerts management when due dates are compromised.
  • Determines how approved ECOs should be grouped for implementation.
  • Maintains an authorized approvers list for CCB.
  • Manages Change Notification requirements internally and by customer.
  • Ensures all internal and customer specific requirements related to a change have been added to ECO and assigned to the responsible party prior to final review.
  • Coordinates and communicates with multiple business teams to determine priorities.
  • Capable of performing the duties of the Configuration Management Specialist I and II.
  • Manages backlog of ECOs, approved and coordinates expedites, and alerts management when due dates are compromised.
  • Manage and maintain the integrity and traceability of item configurations throughout applicable phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Act as administrator for Product Lifecycle Management System (Autodesk PLM360)

Work Environment

This job operates in an office environment. This role requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copier/scanners, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Position may require person to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours, constantly performing repetitive motions to use a personal computer and other office equipment, as well as walking around an office and industrial environments on a frequent basis.  Industrial environments are subject to changes in noise, temperature, etc.  Position is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the position may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may be required to wear a mask covering the mouth and nose while interacting with others according company guidelines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is an hourly bi-weekly position eligible for overtime.

Workdays are Monday through Friday. Start times may vary; however, all engineering employees are expected to be present during “core” hours defined as; between 9 AM and 3:30 PM.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

Preferred Experience

Configuration Management Certification preferred

5 years’ experience in CM, document control or records management

Trade Compliance Training equivalent to SIA Advanced.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook

5 years’ experience using ERP system
