Summary:
This position is designed to support the professional growth and development of an individual pursuing a degree in Engineering, or a related technical field. The Mechanical Designer/Drafter will assist the design and engineering teams with project-related drafting activities, document preparation, and general design support tasks. This role offers hands-on experience in producing technical drawings and exposure to real-world design and drafting workflows. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in drafting or technical design. Additional growth opportunities may be available based on performance. Work hours are flexible to accommodate academic schedules, with an expected commitment of 20–30 hours per week.
Position Duties:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Support the creation, modification and review of 2D and 3D models based on engineering specifications.
- Ensure all changes and revisions are properly documented.
- Participate in internal reviews by preparing drafts and revisions for supervisor review
- Support the supervisor in coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to gather needed information or clarify drawing requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Min of 1 year college credits complete
- Computer applications experience (AutoCad, Solidworks, Excel) higher preferred
- Problem solving, critical thinking and creativity skills are essential
- Strong work ethic, high standards for work product, honesty and integrity
- Must be a self-motivated individual
- Excellent oral, written communications and have a high level of moral and ethical standards
Physical Demands
The employee is required to sit or stand frequently at a desk and work with a PC. The employee will also be required to engage with the production and warehousing environments and personnel which may include extended periods of standing, walking and supporting physical inventory counts.
