Summary
The Accountant supports the Finance team by preparing and analyzing financial data to drive informed business decisions. Key responsibilities include journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close, financial reporting, and audits support. This role also oversees cost reporting and analysis for the Phoenix operations and contributes to budgeting, forecasting, and automation initiatives.
This position requires strong accounting fundamentals, analytical thinking, and effective communication. Experience with manufacturing accounting and proficiency in tools such as Power BI and Excel is highly valued.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare general ledger journal entries
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Conduct monthly close and generate financial reports
- Analyze manufacturing cost data and report variances against plan and standards (weekly and monthly)
- Monitor and report variances in other cost categories
- Generate monthly and ad hoc financial reports, including FP&A dashboards
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Develop and maintain financial reports using Power BI, Power Pivot, and other business intelligence tools
- Support Internal and External Audit Requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment
The job is based in the office area of a manufacturing environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt from overtime, salary position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime required to meet business needs (more than 40 hours a week).
Travel
Moderate (less than 20%) may be required.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-2 years of accounting experience (including A/R, A/P, and payroll)
- Proficiency in ERP accounting/manufacturing systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
