Dave Merrill, Director, AmSafe Defense
Mr. Merrill joined AmSafe in 1992, and was promoted into the Commercial Products business unit. Between 1994 and 2006, Dave was responsible for developing the ground vehicle restraint market and instrumental in positioning the business as an industry leader. In 2006, Dave was recruited into a newly developed business unit - AmSafe Defense - focusing on the introduction of AmSafe restraint technologies into the branches of the US military. During his tenure at AmSafe, Dave obtained patents on several restraint products, most notably the innovative buckle that is currently used on the military HMMWV. Mr. Merrill majored in Business at Fort Lewis University in Colorado.
