Lightweight pallet net provides significant weight savings without compromising performance.
PHOENIX (March 29, 2011) – AmSafe® Industries, Inc., the leading provider of engineered restraint systems for aviation, defense, and specialty vehicle markets, today announced that Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) is the latest customer to select AmSafe’s new lightweight cargo pallet nets for use in its cargo programs.
Technologically advanced materials play an important role in helping the aviation industry to reduce weight, decrease fuel consumption and lessen CO2 emissions. The AmSafe lightweight pallet net made with Dyneema® fiber enables safety-critical equipment to be both lighter and stronger without compromising safety or performance.
“We are very proud that NCA has adopted our cargo nets for their pallet and container programs,” said Ian Kentfield, senior vice president of AmSafe Industries, Inc. “We are even more encouraged to know that our efforts in pursuing advanced fibers and manufacturing techniques can positively impact an airline’s bottom line as well as play a positive role in an emission reduction campaign.”
AmSafe cargo pallet nets made solely of Dyneema fiber are nearly sixty-percent lighter than a standard polyester net and are easy to handle. The Federal Aviation Administration and the European Aviation Safety Agency have approved the design and performance of AmSafe pallet nets. AmSafe pallet nets have a lifetime of five years which can contribute to a decrease in maintenance and repair costs for the airlines.
